Dr Hordern worked as a tertiary based lecturer and clinical teacher for postgraduate and undergraduate education in cancer and palliative care across numerous institutions and disciplines. She completed her PhD focusing on sexuality and intimacy issues across cancer and palliative care and remains committed to ensuring that this taboo topic is incorporated into all aspects of information and support provided by The Cancer Council to people affected by cancer, including carers and cancer survivors
