Draft strategic plan 2007-10

1. Opening remarks/Approval of minutes

1. Anne V welcomed the new board members and introduced the agenda for the meeting.
2. Anne V. gave an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the new board members.
3. Minutes of May 25 conference call were approved.
4. Irene M will send the minutes to ICISG members by listserv and be post them on the ICISG website.

2.  CIS Pre-conference course

1. Attendance at workshop exceeded all expectations.
2. It was noted that the response from the participants was very positive.
3. Irene M. will prepare an evaluation report from the 32 completed forms handed in by participants.
4. Irene M. will add article on Tool Box launch from UICC congress newspaper to the ICISG website.

3. Annual General meeting and reception

1. There was good attendance at both the annual general meeting and the reception that followed.
2. Cora H. will follow-up with on a potential member from Belgium.

4. Strategic directions 2007-09

1. Anne V and Chris T. will explore with UICC possible ‘seed’ money to help other countries start a cancer information service.
2. Anne V, Chris T will arrange for a meeting with Isabel Mortara in Geneva to discuss a new Memorandum of Understanding with UICC.
3. Cora H. to discuss collaborating with ECL.
4. Chris T. and Anne V. introduce board members to the draft strategic plan and invited initial feedback. Board members were asked to review the document and to identify their area of interest to help develop further.

5. Governance

1. Next UICC World Cancer Congress will be held in Geneva, August 27-31, 2008.
2. The Board of Directors invited Silvia Den from the Swiss Cancer League to be an ex-officio director.
3. It was agreed that the President term will end at the UICC conference in August 2008.

6.  Next conference call/Meetings

• Irene M. will contact the board members for possible dates for the next conference call – possibility October/November 2006.
•  Next in-person meeting will be held in spring 2007. Location to be determined
