1. Opening remarks and adoption of minutes of meeting

• Anne V welcomed everyone and introduced the agenda.
• The minutes of the October 11, 2006 conference call were approved.
• Irene M will send the minutes to ICISG members by listserv and post them on the ICISG website.

2. Relationship with UICC

• The Board approved the proposed key points for the draft of MOU and CIS sponsorship to be discussed with UICC. (Point no. 3 in the sponsorship document will be revised to “up to 5 visitors”).
• Anne V informed the Board that the proposals had already been sent to Ana O. for review.
• Anne V will follow up with Ana O. re next steps and possible visit to UICC in Geneva.
• Anne V will also inquire about the proposed program for the next world conference in 2008 and the possibility of ICISG having a seat on one of the planning committees.

3. Relationship with members

• Anne V referred to the proposed list of Board liaisons based on geographical areas and prior contacts. She suggested that Board members follow up with their respective contacts to offer support re CIS. Board members will report on progress at the next conference call.
• Board members will contact Irene if the contact email is not working.
• Irene M will add Board liaison list to ICISG website so that new organization can contact their geographical Board liaison directly.

4. Governance

4.1 ICISG Strategic plan

• Board member will draft a short paragraph on their respective strategic direction section, as follows:

• Board members will send the draft paragraph(s) to Chris T and Anne V by March 1, 2007.
• The draft strategic plan will be distributed prior to the conference call on March 7 for review and will be finalized at the in-person meeting in April.

4.2 Membership

• Anne V and Irene M will follow-up with current associate members (especially those who joined 3 years ago) to inquire about their progress about starting a CIS.
• The Board approved the application from Associação Nacional de Informação e Apoio sobre Câncer de Mama (Brazil)to become an associate member of the ICISG.
• The application from Liga peruana de lucha contra el cancer filial Cajamerca of Peru will be reviewed at the next conference call.

5. Preliminary ideas for Course #2

• Anne V referred to a document outlining preliminary topics for How to start a CIS level 2. Comments/ideas on the preliminary outline for Course 2 “Operating a cancer information service” should be sent directly to Marion M.
• Monika P suggested adding a section on the quality of cancer information content.
• This topic will be further discussed at the next conference call.

6. Preliminary agenda for April Board meeting

• Anne V gave an overview of the proposed agenda for the in-person Board meeting to be held in Rome on April 23-24, 2007.
• Board members should send other agenda items to Anne V.

7. Other business

• Doreen gave a brief overview of the possibility for funding through the Social Entrepreneur initiative. Doreen will develop an approach for further discussion.

8. ICISG calendar 2007-08

• The next conference call is scheduled for March 7, 2007 at 8AM Toronto time
• The next in person meeting to be held April 23-24, 2007 in Rome, generously hosted by AIMaC.
