1. Opening remarks and adoption of minutes of meeting

1. Anne V welcomed everyone and introduced the agenda.
2. Corrections were made to the minutes of the Rome meeting of April 23-24, 2007. Irene M. will send to ICISG members by listserv and will be post on ICISG website (without appendix A)
3. Minutes of the June 14, 2007, conference call were approved with minor changes. Irene M. will send to ICISG members by listserv and will be post on ICISG website.

2.  Pre-congress course

1. Anne V. and Irene M. will revise the registration form and add to ICISG website by December 1, 2007. Revisions will include choice of basic or advance course and specify that the course will be given in English.
2. The website home page will be updated with the link to the registration form, course time of 9 AM-5 PM and limit of 50 people.
3. Marion M. took the group through the preliminary pre-congress course outline. Facilitators are required for each session. Cora H. volunteered for Staffing your CIS.
4. New materials for the tool box resources should be sent to Marion M.
5. Marion will schedule a conference call for the course working group in the next few months.
6. Claudia D. advised the Board that Dr. de Lorenzo would like to be considered as a speaker for the patient testimonial at the course.  Marion M. will forward his name to the working group.
7. Rehearsal for the pre-congress course will be held in Geneva, August 26, 2008 at the one of the Swiss Cancer Society offices. This will be followed by a dinner organized by Silvia.

3.  UICC 2008 Congress

1. The ICISG plenary session will be on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Session will open with Martin Ledwick (Cancer Research UK), followed by Al Marcus (NCI) and David Hill (Cancer Council of Victoria).
2. ICISG General Meeting (date to be confirmed) will be hosted by the Swiss Cancer Society. The Executive Director of the Swiss Cancer Society will provide opening remarks
3. The American Cancer Society will host a reception for ICISG members and ECL after the General Meeting.
4. The date and place for the Board of Directors meeting will be confirmed.

4. Governance

1. A letter of introduction was sent to the ECL from Anne and Chris T.  Cora H. confirmed that this will be discussed by the ECL and that a formal letter will follow.
2. Application form for nominations of new Board members will be added to ICISG website in January.
3. Chris T. will forward revised minimum standards to Board members for their comments before posting on the website. The document will now be called “core values”.
4. Anne V. confirmed that the strategic plan will be completed by the end of 2007.

5. Relationship with members

1. The Board approved the application for membership submitted by Zambian Cancer Society as an associate member of the ICISG.
2. Roshini G. will look for information on the Manipur Cancer Society before its application for membership is brought forward to the Board.
3. Cancer Support Uganda will be asked to submit its application when it is closer to establishing a CIS
4. Irene M. will add the membership profiles to ICISG website.

6. Working with members

1. Mary Anne B hosted a group of 20 from the Middle East.
2. Doreen A. visited the Cancer Society of New Zealand
3. Monika P. worked with two organizations from Turkey
4. Anne V. visited the Institut national du cancer, France

7. Next ICISG conference call

1. Next conference call: Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 8AM (Toronto time).
2. In-person meeting to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, US. Date to be confirmed.
